Final Fantasy 3 is officially confirmed now as an Ouya launch title. A new update on the Android console's Kickstarter page -- which is now up to $5.8 million in funding with eight days to go -- shares the news, describing the release as the product of a partnership between Ouya and Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix.
The classic JRPG from 1990 has seen multiple releases over the years, including an updated version for Nintendo DS with completely re-done 3D graphics. The wording of the update seems to indicate that it's the original version of FF3 that will be released, not the 3D remake, but whichever version it is, the game "will be updated to exploit Ouya's high-definition resolution."
There's no solid release date yet for the Ouya, though the console is expected to start shipping to backers in March 2013.
