PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting a special treat on August 7, 2012: episodes one and two of Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, normally $4.99 apiece, will be free to download for the entire day. You can keep them for as long as you like once they're on your console, but the freebie download period is limited to next Tuesday.

For those who haven't yet taken the plunge with Telltale's adaptation of Robert Kirkman's popular comic book series, I can't recommend these two highly enough. Episode one is strong for a stage-setting intro, but episode two really sinks its teeth in (see what I did there?). The story so far has the same dark humor and sense of unpredictability that the comics offer, and it's MUCH more raw than anything the popular AMC TV series has pulled off so far.

Really, the only good reason to skip downloading these entirely FREE tastes of The Walking Dead is if you've played them already. If you're a PS+ subscriber, this is the sort of thing that you're paying those annual fees for. Get on it.
