The Nintendo 3DS XL is bigger, but is it better? In the video below, G4 interviews Kit Ellis, PR Manager at Nintendo, who puts the device through its paces, showing off the new form factor, new colors, and, of course, that larger screen.
I tried that Nintendo 3DS XL at Comic-Con, and it's a solid handheld. While some changes have been made from the original device -- the design is more streamlined, buttons and ports have been moved around a bit to make things sleeker, the finish is matte instead of shiny -- overall, it's all about the screen real estate. The XL is perfectly sized: Big enough to show off everything you need to see, even in more complicated games, but not so large as to be ridiculous.
Overall, it fits nicely in your hand, looks cool, and is, well, bigger. And that's better.
