Back in March I told you about indie platformer Laika Believes, a game from Minicore Studios with a very interesting premise and a lot of potential, especially for a space nerd like me. Today, we learned that Laika Believes will be released in three episodes, each with 5 -8 hours of gameplay. The first episode is planned for a Spring 2013 release. The second and third episodes will be released within the following year.
Laika Believes is an alternative history platformer in which Laika, the famous Soviet space-dog that was the first animal to ever to orbit earth, didn't die in orbit. Instead, she returned as a half-robot half-canine hybrid. The earth has been taken over by the Soviets, and Laika sets about rescuing the survivor of the USSR's dystopian horror-world.
The first-ever demo of the game should be playable at Pax Prime this year, so if you're in Seattle, stop by Minicore's booth and check it out. I'll see you there. G4 will be at the show, bringing you up-to-the-second news, interviews, previews and other good things.
