Serious Sam 3: BFE Confirmed For Linux Support

Serious Sam 3: BFE will follow the lead set by Left 4 Dead 2 with Croteam and Devolver Digital confirming plans to add support for the Linux open-source operating system to the PC/Mac game. Valve confirmed only recently that Steam would soon be updated to make nice with the Ubuntu distribution of Linux, and Left 4 Dead 2 was pegged as the first game to be rebuilt for the additional OS.

The plan is to have the Linux version of Serious Sam 3: BFE up and running before the end of 2012, but given the fact that we're also still waiting for the console versions of the game -- confirmed when SS3 was originally announced -- that timetable may well be subject to change. Work is moving along though, as you can see in the newly released screenshot up top.
