Avatar Famestar Adds Cross-Game Rewards To Xbox Live Arcade

Next week Microsoft will release Avatar Famestar, a new feature that will affect some XBLA games. Avatar Famestar will add another layer of achievement points or currency, but they'll only affect your Microsoft avatar. For example, if you get a perfect score five times in a row in a specific Avatar Famestar supported game, you'll be rewarded for it.

"Avatar Famestars is a new program from Microsoft Studios and is part of a select group of games that delivers new and exciting ways to play online with your friends and compete for social recognition," says Microsoft.

Your points will accumulate across different games, like next week's Summer of Arcade title, Wreckateer. Games that have already been released, like Full House Poker, and A World of Keflings will also get support. Future titles that will include Avatar Famestar support are: Fire Pro Wrestling, Homerun Stars, and Avatar Motocross Madness.
