Ubisoft Sales Up 27 Percent Thanks To Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

Ubisoft sales have risen significantly in the first quarter of fiscal 2012-13 mostly due to the success of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The French publisher announced their total sales number at approximately $160 MM, 27.2 percent over the $126 MM they posted last year. They attributed the boost to "higher-than-expected sales" of Future Soldier.

Future Soldier wasn't the only thing that exceeded expectations though. Ubisoft themselves had one of the best E3 showings of any company, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot believes this is just the beginning of Ubisoft's lucrative future.

"With 335 nominations and more than 160 awards at E3 2012, Ubisoft reaped the rewards of its pro-active strategy in the Core segment and demonstrated its strong comeback in this category," he said.

With  Assassin's Creed 3 coming later this year,  titles like Far Cry 3 and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist coming next year, and next-gen IPs like Watch Dogs already in development, it seems as though Ubisoft is on track to keep this momentum going. We'll have to wait and see if they can pull it off though. 

Guillemot' seems to think they'll be able to. "Our success at E3 2012 and the robust momentum of our Online games are positive indicators for achieving our full-year targets for 2012-13," he said.
