Shadowrun Online developer Cliffhanger Productions is turning to the fan community for assistance with a newly launched Kickstarter campaign that seeks to raise a minimum of $500,000 for continued development of the game (via Polygon). Don't confuse Shadowrun Online with Shadowrun Returns, the latter being the successfully funded upcoming RPG from Harebrained Schemes, a studio founded by FASA Corporation vet Jordan Weisman.
Shadowrun Online is planned as a browser- and tablet-based MMORPG that will include both a free-to-play model and premium subscriptions, the latter of which should amount to roughly $10 per month. At the time of this writing, there are 26 days remaining before the funding period concludes on Shadowrun Online, with just shy of $58,000 raised so far.
