A new PlayStation 3 model may be on the way if pictures from Anatel, the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications, are to be believed. In the images, the new PlayStation 3 (or whatever it is) has a ridged texture and sliding panel on the top.
Aside from pictures of the system itself, there's also a picture from Tecnoblog of Sony Brazil's application letter to Anatel regarding the hardware.. According to the letter, the new model of PS3 will be identical to one another, except they'll have three hard drive sizes: 16GB (?), 250GB, and 500GB.
Sony hasn't confirmed (or denied) the existence of the new PlayStation 3 model, but considering the company filed a new PS3 SKU with the FCC a week ago, we're guessing that this is what it was for. No details have been given at this time regarding what's under the hood of the device, but as we get more information we'll be sure to keep you in the loop.
Head over to Tecnoblog for a handful of pictures of the new system.
