343 Industries is bringing back the Forge mode in Halo 4 with a little help from Certain Affinity, with representatives from the two developers revealing the first concrete details about the map-maker during a weekend panel at the second annual Rooster Teeth Expo. Players will once again be able to create and share maps, and they'll have a few new tools in the toolbox when Halo 4 hits stores on November 6, 2012.
While veteran creators will no doubt be pleased to hear that object duplication is much simpler -- you merely have to press down on the D-pad -- and that objects will be able to lock together along a magnetic grid, the biggest change is probably the addition of player trait zones. Map builders will able to mess with various player characteristics in specific areas, tweaking values like jump height, run speed, and gravity (which can be reversed).
The panel also brought confirmation that Forge still won't support an undo/redo feature, due to what Destructoid describes as "networking issues."
