LucasArts appears to be getting ready to release a two-pack PC bundle for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, based on Amazon and GameStop product listings (via Joystiq). The collection hasn't been officially confirmed, but GameStop's listing notes a July 17, 2012 release date and a $20 price.
The timing on this bundle feels a little bit strang, what with BioWare's Star Wars: The Old Republic MMORPG -- set a couple hundred years after the events of the two KOTOR games -- having come out in December 2011. Wouldn't it have been a better idea to capitalize on last year's release with a fall or even summer 2011 bundle?
Then again, SW:TOR is launching its "free to 15" initiative this month, offering anyone the opportunity to play multiple characters up to level 15 in the MMO without paying a cent. Perhaps the bundle, which covers both BioWare's KOTOR and Obisidian's follow-up, is meant to re-introduce fans (and prospective subscribers) to the idea of RPG play in the Star Wars universe. In any event, this amounts to two great games (or one near-perfect game and one kinda okay game) for one low price.
