Pokemon Black 2 And White 2 Have A Release Date In The US

Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 have a release date. Get ready to catch them all on October 7, 2012. That's a Sunday by the way. The first true sequels in the series will be released on the Nintendo DS and the 3DS, although the 3DS version will play in 2D. Black 2 and White 2 take place two years after Pokemon Black/White.

Pokémon Dream Radar will also be available on October 7 in the 3DS eShop. This game lets 3DS players catch rare Pokemon with the 3DS camera, motion control, augmented-reality technology, and then transfer them to their game, either Pokemon Black 2 or Pokemon White 2.

Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 have already been released in Japan, where it sold 1.56 million units in one week. This puts Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 amongst the best selling games for the 3DS, but it did not help boost 3DS sales. I have to wonder why Nintendo opted to not have this title be a 3DS exclusive. If it were, I assure you, I'd go buy one. Pokemon White 2 (since I played the original White) will be a day one purchase for me. Which version do you want?
