The Secret World Dev Now Working On A LEGO Minifigures MMO

Funcom doesn't even have The Secret World out the door yet, but that's not stopping the developer from revealing its next project: a massively multiplayer online game based on LEGO's Minifigures series of toys. LEGO Minifigures are collectible characters that come packaged in unmarked bags, meaning you never know which one you'll get. They were first introduced in 2010 and they continue to be a popular pick among collectors.

Funcom's game is designed with "maximum accessibility" in mind, according to the press release, meaning that it's going to be simple enough for fans of any age to get in and play. No surprises there, though Funcom's MMO development experience ought to help prevent a situation where the all-ages fun skews too shallow for serious gamers to enjoy it as well. LEGO is a toy that appeals to creatively minded people of any age, and I'm sure we're all hoping that the developer finds a way to tap into that.
