Zygna, the social gaming company behind the massively popular titles like Farmville and Words With Friends announced a variety of new games today including Farmville 2, The Ville, Chef Ville, and a new social multiplayer platform called Zygna With Friends at their Zygna Unleashed event.
The Zygna With Friends platform will include a unified lobby where you can check out your friends list, games you own, and chat all in one place. The platform will also feature a live social stream and user profiles to store your records. There's no release date set yet for the platform, but the company's promised it will be out soon.
The new platform is another step in Zynga's march away from facebook; games on the Zynga with Friends platform will be playable separate from the facebook platform.
Regarding FarmVille 2, the company mentioned its existence, and that it'll be a 3D sequel to the original Farmville, but other than that they didn't give us any insight about the sequel. I'm sure it'll involve clicking fake vegetables and horses though, which is all I really care about.
Additionally, Zygna unveiled The Ville, a game that looks a lot like The Sims Social. It will launch on Facebook, and in the game, players will be able to customize their avatars, build houses, hang out with their friends, cook food, hold parties, purchase furniture and clothing, and more.
ChefVille was also announced at the event and, as you probably guessed, it will have gamers trying to start up their own restaurant. The game's a next-gen version of Zygna's own Cafe World, but in ChefVille players will be able to design the kitchen, locate ingredients, and of course share recipes with friends. Zygna even plans to e-mail players real recipes as a reward for learning them in the game.
I've got to admit, I'm a huge fan of Zygna. Especially their mobile games (I love Scramble With Friends so much). Facebook games aren't really my thing lately, but ChefVille definitely seems up my alley and I'm looking forward to checking it out. Out of the three games announced, are you going to be trying any of them out?
