Far Cry 3

Far Cry 3's release has been delayed. The open-world shooter from Ubisoft was originally set for a September 4 release. The new Far Cry 3  release date is December 4.

“We’re taking more time to create the best possible gameplay experience,” said Dan Hay, producer at Ubisoft. “Far Cry 3 is a huge offering and we want every element of this insane, action-packed adventure to be of the highest possible quality for the players.”

It's definitely a drag that Far Cry 3 is coming out later in the year, but check out my Far Cry 3 preview -- Judging from my time playing the game, it's a very ambitious title, on a scale that few games even aspire to, let alone achieve. I'm willing to wait a few months if it means that the finished Far Cry 3 will live up to its promise.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the release of Far Cry 3? Does this announcement ruin your September gaming plans?
