Capcom wants you all to start your morning off right, with a 20-minute dose of Resident Evil 6 gameplay footage pulled from the portion of the story focusing on Leon Kennedy and his new partner, Helena Harper. The upcoming sequel is trying something new in giving players three separate, co-op-driven (but not required) campaigns to play through, all of which come together to fill out a much larger picture.

Don't expect to see a lot of the run-and-gun action in the newly released footage, which amounts to a portion of Capcom's E3 2012 demo for Resident Evil 6. Story and tension-packed exploration are the focus here, showing us the events that follow Leon shooting the zombified U.S. president, a moment that the game's debut trailer gave us a peek at. Needless to say, you should probably skip this if you want to avoid spoilers. You'll find part one of the footage up top and part two down after the jump.

Not enough? Why don't you go ahead and check out our Resident Evil 6 E3 2012 preview? It won't be much longer before you can shoot some zombies yourself. The game hits stores on October 2, 2012.
