Anarchy Reigns

Anarchy Reigns, Sega's nutball multiplayer beat 'em up from Platinum Games, won't be making its way to North America or Europe until Q1 2013, an update on the publisher's official Twitter feed confirms. The game continues to be on track for its release in Japan on July 5, 2012.

Sega's only comment about the delay so far is in the frequently re-posted tweet, which states: "The release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 of 2013."

I'm frankly not sure what there is to re-evaluate here. July is a quiet month for game releases whereas Q1 2013 is about as noisy as you can get, with titles like God of War: Ascension, Aliens: Colonial Marines, and BioShock Infinite all incoming. Why next year's blockbuster-packed kickoff makes more sense for a release window than right now is a mystery, and one that we'll have to live with until Sega offers additional context.
