Let's all give a big, hearty shoutout this morning to Humble Indie Bundle 5 which, thanks to your generous support, closed its two-week run with $5.1 million raised. That huge number is even more impressive when you look at the previous record holders' sales figures: the second and third Humble Bundles both made slightly more than $2 million. In other words, bundle number five earned more than double. Nifty.
No surprise either, given the amount of awesome content included in this latest Humble Indie Bundle offering. The starting four titles -- Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Limbo, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and freaking Psychonauts -- are plenty. Then things got crazy when four more titles were added to the mix: Bastion, Lone Survivor, Braid, and Super Meat Boy. Plus soundtracks where applicable. Like, whoa.
Part of me considers all of that, looks at the final sales number, and thinks, "It was ONLY $5.1 million?" Seriously though-- good show to all of those who put these together and good show to all of you who stepped up and spent money on great games for a great cause.
