Nintendo made a lot of gamers happy with the 3DS re-release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and now the publisher is looking to repeat that success with another enhanced Zelda port for the handheld device. It's apparently a tight race right now between Majora's Mask, the not-quite-sequel to Ocarina, and the SNES game A Link to the Past, according to Shigeru Miyamoto.
The Zelda creator admitted that "this is something we've certainly been talking about and doing a little bit of experimenting with" in an E3 interview with IGN. Miyamoto has in the past expressed his desire to return the fan-favorite SNES Zelda, though he admitted at the time that he'd prefer to create something new and base it on the classic game than just put out a straight remake. As for Majora's Mask, a 3DS remake for the follow-up to Ocarina just makes good business sense, and it's something that fans have been asking for already.
Which one would you rather see? I think we can all agree that new Zelda is better (at least potentially) than remade Zelda, and that a new Link to the Past-based game trumps all. That said, it certainly would be such a terrible thing to be able to play Majora's Mask again.
