Blizzard has finally flipped the switch on Diablo 3's real money auction house, with players in the Americas now able to spend cold, hard cash on the cold, unfeeling 1s and 0s that make up the game's virtual items. An update on Battle.net confirms the news, noting that the store accepts the U.S. dollar, the Australian dollar, and the Mexican peso.
The update also makes the promise that the Europe launch, as well as support for "the remaining Americas game region currencies," will be coming our way "in the near future." The phased rollout is intended to ensure a smoother experience for all, something that I think any Diablo 3 player will agree is a good thing after the game's rocky launch. Check the Battle.net post for detailed instructions and important security notes.
