id Software's John Carmack caught up with us at E3 to talk with us about his Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. The Oculus Rift was designed to be $500 DIY kit. When built, the Oculus Rift offers 90 degrees of vision.
In honor of Doom 3 BFG's re-release, Carmack broke out the Oculus Rift, making it one of the first games to be VR ready. Carmack believes these headsets are the next step to VR tech being an everyday part of gaming. Do you agree? Personally, I think Carmack is the smartest guy out there, so if he says we're there, we're there. Plus he totally mentioned the holodeck.
