Pikmin 3 On Wii U Won't Support Online Multiplayer

Nintendo's E3 2012 confirmation of Pikmin 3 as a Wii U launch window title isn't all smiles and sunshine, as we now learn that the game won't include any kind of online multiplayer mode. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed as much to IGN, explaining that technical limitations are the big sticking point in keeping the feature out of the upcoming game.

According you Miyamoto, the online multiplayer in Pikmin 3 is a sizable challenge because "you would have lots of individual, small creatures, the Pikmin, whose every movement and location is going to be really important in the game, it would be very difficult to sync up over an internet connection." I would argue back that gaming consoles can do some amazing things these days, but I would also be doing so with no real practical knowledge of game development to back my points up. Mostly, I just want online Pikmin.
