The opening Watch Dogs trailer featured at Ubisoft's press conference at E3 2012 left many audience members scratching their heads, wondering at the premise of the upcoming game for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Watch Dogs appears to be centered around the centralOperatingsystem (ctOS) that now regulates the electricity grid, subway lines, and surveillance of a city in Northeast U.S. With this added system, major companies have begun using ctOS to create profiles of the city's citizens in order to learn how to best influence the population toward specfic political views, markets, and so forth.
This leaves a lot of space for plot in Watch Dogs, though we can safely assume the corporations have something to do with whatever is remiss. What we do know about the game is that our protagonist has the ability to hack any electronic system, and that can make for quite a bit of GTA fun in this third-person action game.
Watch Dogs will be released on for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. No word yet on a release date.
