Bethesda has a pre-E3 treat for you today in the form of a gameplay-packed trailer for Dawnguard, the recently announced summer 2012 DLC release for 2011's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. As you can see in the above trailer, vampires and vampire hunters are the order of the day in the upcoming expansion. It's not clear which group you'll be siding with, but knowing Skyrim, it'll probably be a choice that you have to make.
The trailer offers up a lot of information for sharp-eyed gamers. Crossbows, a previously rumored addition, will be coming to the game, along with new enemies and what appears to be a new bat-like humanoid form for (presumably late-stage) vampires. The new vampire form looks to be a playable component, and it sports a pair of wings that allow it to hover. And hopefully fly. Please let us fly, Bethesda.
There's no set release date for this DLC beyond the "summer 2012" window, but it'll be coming to Xbox Live first for a price of 1600 MS Points. Pricing on the eventual PlayStation 3 and PC DLC isn't revealed, but 1600 MS Points typically converts to $19.99 on other platforms.
