According to Deadline, Josh Trank has signed with Sony Pictures to develop and direct a Shadow Of The Colossus movie. It's planned as a large-scale, live-action adaptation of the PS2 Sony video game. Trank, who directed Chronicle, says he's a fan of the game, and sought out the project. He'll work on the movie with producer Kevin Misher and executives Andy Berman and Kevin Chang.
This isn't the only big movie Trank has in the works. He's also developing two Marvel superhero franchises: Fantastic Four for Fox and the Spider-Man spinoff Venom for Sony. He’s also signed to do the film adaptation of comic book adaptation Red Star for Fox.
As a fan of Shadow Of The Colossus, I gotta worry about a big budget adaptation of this game. No offense to Trank, but I wonder if anyone is really capable of creating a blockbuster that features the strange, dreamy beauty of Shadow of the Colossus... without that, what do you have but a dude killing big monsters? I'm not sure about how a Shadow of the Colossus movie would work out.

As much faith I have in Josh Trank, I'm concerned that the studio will pressure the writers into making an ending that is more safe and happy compared to the dark, depressing ending of the game.
