Cheats and Walkthroughs

A quick glance at the recent release schedules demonstrates the power of the HD Collection. The likes of Devil May Cry, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill have all seen their earlier classics revitalized through the inclusion of high-definition resolutions, trophies and achievements, and in some cases, bonus material.
HD Collections are relatively simple to make, while also near guaranteed to be somewhat successful. Fans who played them before want to relive their memories with the addition of achievements/trophies while newcomers get to revel in gaming history on a current generation console. It's a win-win scenario.
We've seen some great games given the HD treatment, but how about the titles that have been overlooked? We take a look at the five HD Collections that we want to see released soon and just what why they would be so popular.

Grand Theft Auto
Has there ever been a Grand Theft Auto that's flopped? Exactly. The series is guaranteed gaming gold and for good reason. Each new Grand Theft Auto title pushes the current generation of consoles one step further to their true potential. The cities that Rockstar create for each game are vibrant and bursting with life, meaning it's just as much fun wandering around exploring as it is to partake in the missions. Courting controversy in the mainstream press might be a major reason behind Grand Theft Auto's cultural impact but it doesn't take away from the sheer level of class that exists within the series.
Which games?: Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas are obvious candidates for such a collection. While some might suggest later PS2 titles such as Liberty City Stories or Vice City Stories, they don't quite offer that sense of wonder that the main three have provided in their time. Such a trilogy would ably demonstrate the innovations of each title and how we came to Grand Theft Auto 4. From Grand Theft Auto 3's revolutionary, at the time, 3D engine to Vice City's phenomenal soundtrack and San Andreas' introduction of mini-games and RPG character development elements, there’s something for everyone to love.

Crash Bandicoot
Remember when Crash Bandicoot was Sony's equivalent of Sonic the Hedgehog? He might have been a little more awkward in appearance and pretty goofy looking, but back in 1996 there was that idea that the bandicoot would do wonders to the Sony PlayStation's popularity, just like Sonic and Mario did for their respective systems. In reality, advertising and relevant games focused at 20-somethings made Sony the success they are today, but it didn't stop the Crash Bandicoot series selling a huge number of units along the way.
Which games?: Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot: Warped are the best of the bunch and bound to evoke the fondest memories from gamers. Upon initial release, comparisons were drawn between Crash Bandicoot and Donkey Kong Country, understandably so. While action isn't as fast paced as in DKC, the jungle theme and focus on precise jumping to collect fruit bears a lot of similarities. In all three titles, fun is the name of the game throughout and there's always that urge to go back to 'perfect' a level. Cortex Strikes Back and Warped expand upon the formula by introducing warp rooms and racing levels in which Crash rides on a polar bear and tiger cub.

TimeSplitters
The spiritual successor to the wonders of multiplayer Goldeneye? Arguably, that's what the TimeSplitters series was. Formed by a group of ex-Rare employees, TimeSplitters took many of the best elements of Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, and created a fantastic FPS experience. While the story mode wasn't the most memorable at times, the multiplayer was unsurpassed.
Which games?: There were only ever three TimeSplitters games, with rumors abound of a fourth installment coming at some point in the future. Each title built on the success of the previous, thus forming an ideal HD Collection. In particular, the story mode improves with later titles, feeling more well rounded and complex in nature. TimeSplitters 2 introduced single player challenges in the form of Arcade League but the fun lies in player versus player action. The addition of online play for all titles (only Future Perfect included true online gaming) and support for the MapMaker level editor would make this a huge hit.

Kingdom Hearts
It sounded ridiculously outlandish before release. An action RPG from Square-Enix with Disney characters?! Such a partnership made for a stunningly beautiful and memorable game. The production values were second to none with an all-star voice cast, fantastic orchestral score, inspired storytelling and wondrous animation.
Which games?: While there have been numerous portable spin-offs, there were only two PS2 games. These would be ideal in an HD Collection, demonstrating just why the series caught people's imaginations. While Gameboy Advance title Chains of Memories is sandwiched between them, it's not essential for understanding the story. Kingdom Hearts 2 fixes the problems of the original with an improved camera and more enjoyable traveling system through the Gummi Ship. In both cases, the titles provide enjoyable hack n slash fighting that's not as easy as appearances would suggest.

Final Fantasy
It was inevitable that Final Fantasy would come up. The series has done wonders to the popularity of the JRPG and while Dragon Quest is a similarly fantastic franchise, it doesn't quite have the pulling power that Hironobu Sakaguchi's series has offered. Nearly every game has been an evolutionary step forward and, while not all have been appreciated as much as the last, a collection of some of the best would sell faster than free tickets to the Superbowl.
Which games?: The choice is huge but populist opinion would dictate Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX. Final Fantasy X HD has already been confirmed and XII divided opinion ruling out a PS2 based HD Collection. VII, VIII and IX show off some of the best JRPG action to be had and it's hard to choose between them when it comes to which was best. VII was the one to revolutionize the Western world's perception of the genre, while VIII and IX built upon these foundations wonderfully with their own set of features.

Honestly I never Pre-Order Games.
But for Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy VII VIII and IX I would pre-order 2 copies each one to not open and one the play til it breaks!

Give us a Hitman HD Collection and a Destroy All Humans Rerelease
Quixotic_Noble
And make them real HD collections. I honestly wasn't that impressed with the Metal Gear Solid HD collection. It was polished a little but not that impressive.

I always figured they'd do ff7 for the longest time but why isnt legemd of the dragoon on this list
Flight_Eagle
Skies of Arcadia and Megaman Legends.
sandyaj
I really think that Legend of Dragoon should make this list. The game is classic, and well worth digging into again, of course a sequel to it on a next gen console would be nice as well (hint hint)
Iron_Man_4224
i'd love to see a kingdom hearts series hd release!
SilencingMachine
Your list bores me. As an 80s kid with 8-bit in my heart - Kirby's Adventure. Nuf sed.
Bandit690
I agree with all these.....but i want a persona 3 HD.
MindTricked
I would pre-order a remastered GTA collection NOW, especially since my PS3 isn't backwards-compatible and I keep getting an itch to play San Andreas for the umpteenth time (and I'm too lazy to reconnect my PS2, haha).
But, seriously, clean up the main GTA games with an HD finish, both video AND audio? Instant cash.
SilentHillxPS3
The collections are all great, but I only had a problem with the Silent Hill HD, cause you can't change the voice to classic in Silent Hill 3.
Bassglass
boring list.
Oh and GTA 2 was a huge flop in my mind.
Tmidiman
How about the game that started the GTA series as we know it?
Body Harvest!
Alas, it's only a dream.
Put Shemue in that dream as well.
kwfang

Honestly you guys need to pull the stick out of your collective asses and just be glad that the classics haven't been forgotten. Even if you didn't enjoy the games listed here no one needs your venom. I for one am glad they're making HD titles, I'd love to see the end results.
