Sony's May 22, 2012 release Sorcery ushers in a new feature for PlayStation Network users: the ability to pre-load games purchased online before their official launch. The Move-enabled magical action game is currently the only title in Sony's PS Store library that offers this feature (it'll be available as a boxed retail release as well). Simply pay for the digital version of Sorcery and then download it; once May 22 arrives, the game will unlock and you can start playing.
The feature helps offset the lengthy process of waiting for your new digital delivery purchase to download. It's not exactly a new idea; Steam and many other PC game e-tailers offer the same sort of situation; buy the game early, download it early, start playing the moment the release date arrives.

why are they deciding to release it on the 22nd ? Dragon's dogma is coming out and so is ghost recon . In my opinion this is the sort thing that happens with sony and their exclusives bad release dates! If i were them i would do it on the week of E3 cause then the only competition that week would be vanquish, which has been under the radar to most .

Finally!! Not saying I'm going to buy the game. Consoles will be pre-loading games going into the future. This is just the start! Plus games take forever to download on the PSN. This is awesome!

The game is only $40 for digital and disk. I rather go disk, becuase if I buy digital and decide to sell my move. Sorcery would be useless without the move controller.

Wait, wha-? Sorcery, the one game that seemed interesting for the Move, the game that was showed in E3 2010, then vanished completely in 2011 (including in that year's E3) and that just recently got some attention. This game IS GONNA BE RELEASED NEXT WEEK?!?!
You see, that is EXACTLY what is wrong with Sony. they are great at making games, but terrible at selling them.
I'm a PS3 "heavy user", I see the gaming news daily, I love action/adventure games. And I bought (impulsively) a dust-loving PS Move near launch. In other words, I AM the public this particular product is aimed to.
How did they manage to surprise me with this release specifically?
I don't care if, in fact, they gave the release date for the game months ago. They should have promoted it, advertised it, anything.
I almost bought a 3DS title today, to keep me busy during the weekend. Had I bought it, I would think twice about shelling the cash for getting Sorcery at launch, and maybe Sony would have lost a sale. From me wich, by the way, AM THE FRIGGIN' PUBLIC TO THIS PARTICULAR GAME.
And then the "geniuses" wonder why PS3 exclusives, despite being great games, don't sell so well... Sight
