The rumor mill is turning with word that EA/DICE plan to reveal a Battlefield 3 premium service at E3 2012. According to site Battlefieldo, Battlefield Premium will debut on June 4, the day of EA’s E3 press conference. It will feature “a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else.” The supposed leak also reveals a DLC schedule for BF 3.
Here's the text the site attributes to an "unofficial but very reliable source:"
"Battlefield Premium will land you a number of content drops with unique in-game items not available anywhere else. First out is the one-of-a-kind Premium knife and black dog tag, plus a set of soldier camos, weapon camos, dog tags and Assignments that will make sure you stand out and get more personalization options."

I love how people state how they don't like Close quarters but they are totally excited for End Game.... You don't even know what End Game is about yet. Piss heads

Welcome to the video game industry, penile connoisseurs.

Don't know about everyone else here, but I'm a huge fan of Battlefield 3. I've got nearly 200 hours logged in and it is still exciting to me every time I log in, as if it was my first time. There is little I dislike about the game, and I was already excited about the Close Quarters DLC coming out in June. However, when I read this article my heart skipped a beat. I am SO SO SO happy to hear about the new DLC and even the Premium Service! I will gladly pay and support the devs at DICE. I don't know why people are complaining so much, I mean, many developers drop their games even after a few months. DICE intends to make BF3 last with new content all the way into mid 2013 it seems. And hopefully even beyond!
But why are people SO upset? If you don't want to pay for a portion of the game, DON'T BUY IT YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Don't befoul the name of the game and company just because you don't like their expansions. Heck, most people who are complaining are the ones who don't even seem to like the game in the first place! They even act as though the DLC's should be part of the normal game that you buy, and then when they have to pay for something, they go all crazy and rage about it. They already have their game, they chose to pay the price of what was available at launch. I am totally supportive of DLC costing money, it is NEW content. And what is sad is that the majority of BF3 players don't even experience it long enough to see the potential and possibility of every weapon, game mode, map, strategy, etc... enough and they don't stop to even think about why what is being added is actually quality content. Most people respond with- Oh? Another pack of machineguns? CRAP. Oh? Another set of maps where I do the same thing? CRAP. More dogtags? CRAP. ETC ETC ETC. Open your eyes folks! There is so many possibilities to this game! Just look up Hazard Cinema's Top Plays videos on YouTube or even the Community Challenges videos that are on there. There's more to do than run and gun. I just can't stand it when folks don't even give things a chance because they have a narrow view of the game.
Don't like what DICE has to offer? The NEW content they have built to add on to the game? Don't like it then. You don't have to pay for it. But you complain? Why? Because you want it? Does that mean it might be good? Or is it because you want your way and want something else? In that case go find another game or just go make your own. See how hard that is, feel the pressure of what the community wants and come back and tell me you're mad because you had to pay $15 to experience new content in a game you hate, and wish there was more or something different.
As far as their choice to make more DLC and add a premium service, I think that is SMART! Go for it DICE! Your faithfuls and the people who actually love this game will pay for it. Paying for something is respecting it in my opinion. As a business it is smart, but I don't think the community should bash them for wanting to do good business. And it is between the company and the consumer that there is a connection- one works hard and supplies, the other works hard and buys.
Keep doing what you're doing DICE!

I am the only one PC BF3 player who actually don't care?
Devs and publishers use DLCs to rip-off players, but DLC has A LOT of potential.
5 new maps for 20 bucks? Shiny outfits for premium? New guns? Pathetic, nah, go F yourself.
Dino survival in Battlefield 3? Yeah, that's what I call DLC, I WILL buy something new to my game, something that extends my experience, not something that use the same old stuff to take my hard earned moneys. I'd rather buy some awesome indie game.
For example FIFA Street doesn't doing well as standalone title, but it'd be a lot cheaper to develop as dlc for FIFA 12, it'd be cheaper to buy and it'd be one heluva DLC.
DLC has ability to put something changing in core mechanics, that obviously won't work as standalone title. Some small stuff - put Nazi Zombies on the moon! That's DLC (the only one I got ever for CoD). New maps for multiplayer? That's not DLC, that's an update to keep your game alive - do it free. Or go F yourself, good publisher, I'll go somewhere else.

Makes me kinda wish I didn't get rid of Battlefield 3 already :(
kind of makes me glad I DID. 1st thing that made me start to think it was time to get rid of BF3? The suckage that is Back to Karkand. The 2nd and final thing? The last huge update that added the rent a server.
Oh Battlefield Bad Company 2 PLEASE COME BACK!
AWESOMEgamer875
OK this is what CoD needs to do in my opinion. Every second week in November the new game comes out and the old game that basically just came out is thrown out or stored on a shelf never to be played again. The franchise in my opinion could still be going on DLC for MW2 and not even come out with the other games yet! Its moving to fast and its nice to see that this company is doing something right and going for a long term game instead of some crap just to hold gamers over. Its the difference between a steak and a fiber bar... the steak is better.

why is it that when the government or some extreme group attacks the gaming industry. G4 is there to voice their opinion on the injustice to the consumer. but when the gaming industry is the one doing all the cheating, and underhanded lying to the consumer. the game websites and shows like G4, IGN, Game trailers, Electronic Playground and others. seem to be silent, never speaking ill of those horrible corporate practices. is this what we call shaking hands with the devil. at times I feel that Jack Thomson should have won in his court battle against the game industry. maybe then there would be some sort of regulations and guidelines for them to follow. they don't seem to know if they want to known as an art form or a business, good or evil. this is how i see it. an artist can't afford to screw over their customers. corporation can and will.

my classmate's half-sister makes $82 hourly on the laptop. She has been out of work for 7 months but last month her check was $14438 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Here's the site to read more NuttyRich.com

lol, people call CoD a cash cow but EA is a strait up whore.

i just hope they fix the weapons and the severs. i mean i understand there making money off the severs and that's fine but i don't want to play on custom servers and instead of just going to the server browser they should just put on quick match if you want to go on custom servers or default severs(dice servers) and that's it its simple and effective and you still make money
nightmare300
so you do have to pay for it aaaaaaa am still going to get it
ACILLAT3M
To spatta04, Dmanplayer729, chach7171, Randypants, DPsx72 and all others who piss and moan about how you have to pay for DLCs or how crappy the servers are GFO!!!!!!!! first off im okay having to pay for DLCs the people designing them work hard on them and diserve to get paid. second its really not that big of deal its like saying "its stupid that the cop gave me a speeding ticket eventhough i chose to speed" it your choice if you dont feel like paying a whole ten dollars then don't and if you think they should be free then STFU this isnt communist russia money makes the world go round and if you think im lying then your just as ignorent as little kids. finally the servers are not that bad i personally love 500+ tickets lobbies and weapon restrictions it makes it more challenging but i have friends who dont like them and we play on normal servers all the time.

Ehh... not too much of a fan of this if true.

Why do so many people complain about paying for DLC? Since when has anything referred to as premium content been free. Its optional guys you dont have to pay for it. You got rid of BF3 because of rent a server and not being "entitled" to downloadable maps and content? You and everyone else with this crybaby logic needs to reevaluate themselves. Everything costs money. Sure some DLC can be free but overall why should it? You dont buy a car for base value than complain about not having the chrome and extras you didnt pay for. Battlefield always had expansion packs that cost 20 dollars and they always had rentable servers. These maps are no different. Yes CoD is a money sucking game but you know what I did? Didnt pay for a single DLC cause how I value it is up to me. I value BF3s DLC a whole lot more than CoD. And I am certainly not an idiot who thinks everything should be free.

Cant wait for Amored Kill and End Game.

Luckily my clan rents a server on the psn and we don't really make douche rules. Spawn camping is only thing frowned on and thats about it. As far as the prem service it does seem odd since they did blast the cod elite from the get go. If it's a pay service it better be a reasonable price then i might consider it. As far as the expansions yup def will be a most buy for me. My advice if you have trouble finding a good server is keep trying and don't randomly fav a server.
DPsx72
Oh stop whining about the servers. There are a ton of them and plenty offer rules sets close enough to default. I know the 500+ ticket servers exist but it doesn't mean ALL of them are like that. Just last night I found some games that didn't last an hour. As far as the rules, those are BS too. One said no shotguns but I used my DAO just fine.
Anyway scams like this are lame. The game is great but there's no guarantee I'll spend over $10 for the new packs, let alone some idiotic service for useless items. EA went from crap to decent. Hope they don't sink back into crap.

What ever happened to video game companies who made content for their player base instead of trying to get more money?
