Infinity Ward is always trying to utilize the core mechanics of Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 3 in ways previously not explored. This idea sparked Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's latest gameplay mode: Face-Off. In Face-Off, you'll play in one versus one, or two versus two matches.
News broke about Modern Warfare 3's Face-Off mode earlier this week, but now, we're finally seeing it in action in an "official" video. Face-Off will have new maps, Erosion, Aground, Getaway, and Lookout. All four maps look pretty insane, but I can already see myself playing on Getaway the most. If I'm going to get my ass handed to me by twelve-year-old kids, I want it to be in a tropical paradise. I'll take two tickets, please.
Face-Off maps are smaller than your standard MW3 multiplayer map, which means you won't be running around looking for someone to shoot. On May 16, two of the Face-Off maps, Erosion and Aground, will be free on Xbox Live.
Face-Off isn't the only new content coming to Modern Warfare 3 in Content Collection #2. It also comes with three multiplayer maps: Foundation, Sanctuary, Oasis. Two new spec-missions are also being added, complete with new maps Ironclad and Kill Switch.
