The Xbox 360 is all sorts of Internet-connected, but a newly surfaced rumor suggests that Microsoft will be revealing a dedicated Internet Explorer app for the console at 2012's E3. The app will also include non-mandatory support for Kinect gestures and voince controls, The Verge reports via unnamed sources.
It's not terribly different from the current Bing search feature that is available on the Xbox 360, though that limits results to just media. The IE app would instead be a full-blown browser. There's no word on when this news will be officially revealed, though E3 2012 is of course the most likely bet. As for release timeframe... assuming this is true, Microsoft traditionally releases major dashboard/console updates in November, around the time of the Xbox 360's yearly anniversary.

Well the dashboard connections to x-boxlive and online gaming require some sort of internal browser since the internet gaming servers are "external" to your local computer/console. With "Consoles" really being dedicated computers that do just a few limited tasks like gameplay and VoIP adding an internet browser would not be that hard. But you have to realize that physical memory will constrain what can be done with the browser at one time. I doubt that playing a game a looking for hints/cheats for better scores etc will be available even PS3 with the power of the Cell Broadband Processor does that.
So this browser will be no different than other browsers for dedicated devices like cell phones/tablets and consoles.

So long as I do not have to pay, it is ok by me. I stopped playing xbox because they were adding so many useless features, like Youtube. It requires you to have your PC on at the same time just to use it... well some of us dont have routers, or even PCs for that matter. So this is a great idea, that came way to late. It will increase their sells no doubt, so its a good move for them. One step closer to global domination
