Tons of rumors are pouring in from gaming outlets all over the world, like rumors that Internet Explorer will be added to Xbox or rumors about Beyond Good & Evil 2 being a next gen title. Good day Feedback.
My question is in regards to the necessity of E3. Now I have been watching G4's coverage of E3 since 2005. Since then I have noticed a disappointing bunch of trends. First, it seems as there are more and more trailers for sequels we already know are coming out. Leading to fewer new or original games. Last year we got 5 maybe, the biggest one being Overstrike. Which hasn't been heard from since.
A second trend is now it seems more game publishers are releasing their trailers or game announcements simply online, or through traditional advertising. Look at all the big game announcements since the new year. Elder Scrolls online, Assassin's Creed 3, Black Ops 2. Even Bioshock:Infinite with it's big reveals on X-Play, now say they not going to show off anything at E3.
The final trend is more of a wonder of mine. We already know that Valve and Rockstar and Blizzard usually spurn E3 in favor of their own plans. So now I begin to wonder how many other publishers will start to pull out of E3. Look at Activision and it's Call of Duty XP convention. Why share a floor with other games if your games are big enough for it's own convention? I remember Insominac throwing their own big party at one point last year. Also look at what Sony went and did when it was ready to launch the PS Vita.
Now don't get me wrong. I love the demofest and trailerfest the E3 has become. It's fun to watch all the G4 hosts get excited over who and what gets on their stage. Also I know there is a whole buisness side to E3 that we don't see happening on TV. But buisness is always changing and when an old buisness model isn't necessary anymore it tends to die out.
So bottom line, in your opinion is E3 still necessary, and if so why? Or is the future of E3 limited and if so why?

Back to the Star Wars episode you did a couple of weeks ago, do you think we'll see anything on a Battlefront 3 or any sequels from any other series? Kingdom Hearts 3, more on Sly Cooper Thieves of Time, and the new South Park game.

Is there any exciting news for hardcore gamers at E3? It seems M$ is just moving forward with everything Kinect, Sony I have no idea (since they already from the start made it a multimedia console) and Nintendo with WiiU. It just feels like there is nothing to look forward to as the gaming industry is more interested in targeting casual gamers.

What up feedback. Every year we seem to judge which of Sony's, Microsoft's, and Nintendo's press conferences at E3 is the most impressive. I wanted to get your opinions on what you think Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo have to show at their press conferences this year in order to be successful?

Nintendo has not had a lot of success since last year's E3. If the Wii U fails, will we be seeing things like Mario on the iphone or Zelda on the Xbox?

I was going to ask what wii-u launch titles would you lie to see but I see that was already asked. I suppose I'll shift my attention to playstation. Do you guys expect any characters to be announced for ps all stars at E3? If so then who? I cant really thnk of "all star" characters that are exclusive. I dont think many people now or care about heavenly sword or resistance characters. Seeing as nariko is quite similiar to kratos as far as combat goes...i'd stick kai in the game...maybe a chimera from resistance too

Companies continue to try new tactics to prevent used games sales whether it's day one DLC or online pass codes. Why is it then that companies are still simultaneously pushing exclusive preorder bonuses at Gamestop which just helps the used game industry? Do you think any of the big three companies will roll out any plans to further prevent used games sales from happening?

As someone who spends a lot of time keeping up on the gaming industry, I find it difficult to get excited about these big conventions. Game journalism websites like this do too good of a job. Rarely does anything new or exciting come out of conventions that hasn't already been leaked two weeks prior.
