Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is officially confirmed and it's got a November 13, 2012 release date, as revealed on the newly updated UK version of CallofDuty.com. The official trailer reveal had already been set for May 1 during the TBS coverage of the 2012 NBA Playoffs, and that's still happening tonight. There's a YouTube window for the trailer on the Call of Duty website, but it's obviously not playing yet.
Peeking into the source code for the page, you can see this brief description of where the game is headed: "Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare." There's also a link in the source to a thumbnail image (enlarged above) showing a helicopter flying toward a war-torn Los Angeles in what appears to be a newscast.
Call of Duty games traditionally share day and date UK and US releases, so expect the same to happen with Black Ops 2 this fall. And of course stay tuned for the upcoming full reveal.

If you really wana change up the cod series for the better on the same cod engine, for freak sakes add your freaking previous maps, guns and perks you have created to the next installment, Just make a freaking CoD: Treyarch , CoD: InfinityWard
It would be so much better, tired of having to switch out disks to play on a different map on a different game.
But anyways, if this cod does not have swords, i refuse to buy it. I will be waiting for CoD5, if they ever finally do it.

they need to make a "Call of Duty: Ancient Warfare" and you use swords and bow and arrows. also maps will be different castle or on ships things like that. i would buy that in a heart beat

Two things..
First, you talk to me and everyone else on here like we are the minority and you have some higher knowledge of video games, if you look at your history on this website with other users and their support of you and your ideals what do you find? 90% of your comments on here get down voted whether your point is valid or not, just because of your lack of respect for anything and everything that doesnt appeal to you.
My suggestion, replace "we" with "I" because these are your disapproval's and your demands not someone elses, dont make it sound like you have a gamer army behind you when you obviously don't. All of the posts from lucidity proves that. And saying no one will respect me for buying it? I can think of over 25,000,000 people who could disagree. But even if that weren't the case I can guarantee you that I wouldn't let threat of you disrespecting stop me from purchasing this, or any other game I find appealing.
Second, Im all for voicing your opinion about a game, go ahead I wont stop you, but when you begin to insult me and fellow gamers who enjoy playing or using a certain game or console thats where it crosses the line. Voice your opinion but dont call me idiotic, a "kiddie" or whatever other labels you have just because I dont agree with you.

the funny thing is at this point EA brings out a fps every year lol. last year was BF3 this year is another medal of honor when first game stroy was just bad and online play was bad company 2 on smaller maps. At this rate every company will come out with a game every year and people will still play then and some will cry like a baby.

Lol seriously dude give it a rest. If you don t like the game don t play it. I don t care if you or someone else calls me an idiot or treats me like dirt because I buy this game. How is my choice in a game affecting your life? I don t care if you choose to play CoD, kinectimals or whatever you choose to spend money on, that s your choice. Why don t you spend your time playing the games that you enjoy and give me the same courtesy? I seriously doubt all of this "experience" you have with so called superior games because all it seems like you spend your time on is sitting on this website and bashing other people's personal choices.
I m not necessarily defending CoD because I do feel like a new one every year is a little much but if someone enjoys the game that s their choice, they aren t using my money or my time. As of right now I won t be buying it in November because there are other games that are higher on my "to play" list. However, I have played every CoD that has come out, does that mean I have no taste? In your eyes, yeah... Do I care what you think of me or any of my friends? Frankly I could care less. I play a lot of games and most of them I devote more time to than CoD. I m sure I would find some of the games in your top 10 or 25 to be boring or un enjoyable, but that doesn t matter to you or me. All this ranting isn t going to change anyone's mind, just like it didn t last year, or the year before. So please, go play all of your great games on your superior consoles so the rest of us can continue on like adults.

I honestly didn't see that coming, I mean the future for black ops 2? how is it going to connect with the first game? (apart from the second cold war) well as long as they put DIVING back in and un-nerf dual-wielding from MW3 I'll be happy! :D I'll probably buy it
