It's a little bit strange in this day and age to see a PC/Mac-only game getting its own TV commercial, but you can get away with that sort of thing when you're Diablo 3. The long (long loooooooooong) in development lootfest RPG is finally coming out on May 15, 2012, and this new TV spot nods to that fact.
There's no gameplay at all. Let's be honest with ourselves here: the brand of top-down point-and-click RPG gameplay in Diablo 3 isn't exactly "TV pretty." Instead, the TV spot flashes between a series of pre-rendered cutscene shots that highlight the return of the Lord of Terror. Which character class will you be using to bring him down?

why is anyone excited about a game that you cant play single player with out being connect to their servers aka single player lag due to servers, a game with a real money auction house and the inability to kick people from your game when they are there just to cause trouble... let alone all the removals of good additions from d2 like increased mob spawns based on players in a game ect ect...
shall we also forget that the closed beta wasnt even a beta? we couldnt even play past skelly king...we dont even KNOW if anything past him works, then there was their 'open beta weekend' that was limited to what, 300k players? ok fine...but how are you not even prepared for that? the servers crapped out on them! in a LIMITED trial run!
i am glad i canceled my ce preorder after all the player reviews came out from the beta tests because if they cant even run a beta then the real launch day will be about 2 weeks after everyone has paid for the game

Played the Open Beta and it reminded me of just how addictive this franchise has always been. May 15th can't get here soon enough!
As far as plot goes, the original Diablo really didn't have one -- except for "get to the bottom of the dungeon and defeat Diablo." Diablo II was much more complex and has a good storyline. I'll be curious to see which way they go with this newest installment.

Pre-ordered and waiting impatiently for launch day. At risk of being labeled as a "Blizzard Fan Boy" I'll say it would take some serious missteps for them to mess this game up. Tried and true gameplay and Blizzard's strong track record of quality lead me to believe this one will be a winner. Mark me down for one character in each class, please. :)
