The price of Nintendo's Wii U won't be revealed until sometime after E3, a newly released financial report from console maker confirms. Don't expect to hear anything official about the price or the release date until later on in summer 2012 (most likely). The smart money is on a late fall launch for the Wii U, because that's just how these things tend to work.
In addition, the report confirms that Nintendo plans to beef up its digital distribution offerings with downloadable versions of major retail releases launching day and date with one another, at least for first-party titles. This new era will begin in August 2012 with the release of New Super Mario Bros 2 for the 3DS. This new day-and-date retail/digital release strategy will also extend to the Wii U once it launches.

I'm legitimately excited for the Wii U as a system. I just think of all the different things you could potentially do with a controller like that. However, Nintendo's game lineups have become a bit stagnant for me. I mean, between Nintendo's consoles, how many Mario games can we really be bombarded with? Throw in a new Zelda every now and then, maybe bring back an old franchise a different way; repeat. I feel like I'm never looking forward to Nintendo's games as much as I used to.

My sentiments exactly. Just concentrate on making quality games and accessories for other companies systems. Heck, Nintendo can even hold both Microsoft and Sony hostage with a bidding war to become the exclusive system of Nintendo games.

Nintendo really needs to pull a SEGA and just go third party. They'll stop wasting money on consoles and make more because they will finnaly put games on consoles people still buy games for. I sell games at work and the least bought games are for the Wii, its all about Xbox (#1) PS3(#2), and the DS/3DS(#3). No one cares anymore about Nintendo's consoles.

I honestly think Nintendo needs to stop catering to children. Parents let their kids play adult style games anyways. I think it's time for them to stop with their childish Wii motes and get back into the Console wars! That or makes their games for other systems! This Wii U just looks dumb and hype will build it up then it will suck just as much as the wii did!

In about 4-5 years Nintendo will be going the way of SEGA. They'll suspend console hardware operations and will be making games for other systems. Although they'll continue to stay in the handheld market.
At least that's my prediction.

I'm hoping this takes a flop. They really need to go back to traditional type gaming. I miss those days of anticipating for the new Zelda or Mario to come out and to enjoy playing them without flailing motion controls around and looking like a total toolbag. Sure they made profits with that technology but come on, just give me a normal controller and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.
