When we first saw the Crysis 3 announcement trailer earlier this week, we were immediately impressed with the main weapon: A tech infused bow, so when we spoke with Rusmus Hoejengaard, Director of Creative Development at Crytek, the bow was among the first things we talked about. According to Hoejengaard, the weapons in Crysis 3 were designed to be more than just a bunch of arbitrary fire-power. They exist within the context of Crysis 3's story.
"The signature bow that Prophet fires which is very analog, a high-tech meets low tech weapon," Hoejengaard says. "Apart from fitting the theme of you being a hunter in a rain forest, it also supports stealth gampelay really well. You're able to fire this weapon while cloaked, which adds new layers to the stealth gameplay."
