Thundercats Coming To The Nintendo DS In August

The Thundercats are coming to the Nintendo DS in August. Namco Bandai didn't mention the upcoming title during their Global Gamers Day keynote, but Thundercats was playable on the show floor. Developed by Aspect Digital (Naruto: Ninja Council), Thundercats will be a side-scrolling action game based on the new cartoon series.

The game picks up when the Lizard army begins descending upon Thundera with only Lion-O to defend it. You'll play as Lion-O as he slashes his way through different types of Lizardmen in order to reunite with his friends and destroy Mumm-Ra's army. 

Tygra, Cheetara, Panthro, and Wilky Kat & Wily Kit will all be featured in Thundercasts as well, but not as playable characters. Each time you click one they'll jump on to the screen and assist Lion-O for a bit, and they have have different attributes and specialties.

Thundercats seems like a game that fans of the show will definitely be into, but if you're a hardcore Thundercats fan, I'm wondering if you're excited for this title too?
