A newly released trailer for Namco Bandai's Star Trek game confirms that fans can look forward to stepping into Chris Pine/Captain Kirk's and Zachary Quinto/Spock's shoes sometime in early 2013. We also get a few new looks at gameplay from the co-op-oriented third-person action game, and it's all looking rather epic.
The Digital Extremes-developed title for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms will fill in the story that unfolds between the events of J.J. Abrams' 2009 reboot and its sequel, which is currently targeted for a May 2013 release (following multiple delays). Members of the press recently had an opportunity to check out Namco Bandai's upcoming slate of games at a preview event, so you can look forward to hearing more about Star Trek soon.

Not a fan of games that are done based on the movie story and characters, but I think this game may have some potential. I prefer that they do a new Star Trek game and use a different timeline and different characters.
