Namco Bandai have confirmed the release date of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition for the PC. Prepare to die over, and over, and over again on August 24, 2012. Hidetaka Miyazaki, Director of FromSoftware, came on stage at the recent Namco Bandai Gamer's Day to make the announcement, saying that the fan petition was the key in creating the PC edition of the game. Sure they listened, but since the game is coming out for Games For Windows Live, not Steam, maybe they should have listened a bit closer.

Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition will include an enhanced PVP mode which allows players to, "more closely assemble battles against one another online in an all-out fight to the death," according to Namco. Additionally, the developers have added a new chapter to the game, called Artorias of the Abyss, to help further expand the lore of the world of Lordran. The chapter will have new areas to explore, enemies to encounter, and bosses to kill.

Retail version will have GFWL, unfortunately. I'm guessing the steam version will too because the Dirt 3 game I got on steam forced me to make a GFWL account.

First Diablo 3 next month and now Dark Souls in August! This is turning out to be a great year for PC gaming. Not to mention Guild Wars 2 and the recent talks of an Elder Scrolls MMO. Cant wait!

I sure hope its better then the console versions though i was not a fan of this game due to some......"things" i felt where not on par with its previous counterpart, i still hope P.C crowd try's it as it still can be a breath of fresh air as opposed to all the mmo's and shooters and stuff and to all you p.c people who will buy.....enjoy blight town cause i never got a chance to :(

so much hype for such an average game. its NOT that Hard. none of the bosses even killed my on my first playthrough, and i only die when i rush. this game first play through was nothing like Demons Souls. PC gamers made a petition saying how they wanted and deserved a challenging game. well if this is what you call a challenge esp after your first play through, well give up on gaming. you should hardly ever die after your first play through. and PvP is extremely broken in this game. lightning weapons, still OP even after Patch 1.05. stun lock great swords make up the majority of the weapons youll see. and Backstabs are so OP its not even a joke. not only will they take away 90-100% of your health, but they have such a giant hit box, its almost impossible not to get or receive a backstab. you can get it while they or you are running, while they or you are rolling, from quite a distance away. you want fun, you want a challenge, go play Demons Souls on Ps3, and dont waste your time on this pathetic excuse for a sequel.
