Feedback's Question Of The Week

This week on Feedback we're going to be focusing on everyone's favorite sci-fi brand, Star Wars. The original trilogy, and those other films, inspired dozens of video games over the past few decades, some good, some really bad. This is your chance to ask any Star Wars related questions you might have! I anticipate this question ahead of time, so no, the Lando versus Han Solo dance battle is not canon.

As a person who volunteers at a childrens hospital it sometimes sucks to see some kids who cant play a game like STAR WARS KINECT because he or she is unable to move the lower portion of themselves. Siting and watching one kid play a portion of the game but passes up the kid next to him because he cant play the dance portion makes you go :(.Do you feel we are headed down a road where games will require you to abandon the controller completely and they will only be completely open to those with perfect health.

    Young Wesker JR!

What characters in a series did you just want to die, or at least go away for good -- no more mention of their names, no more family relations; just gone.

    Hey Feedbackers

What was your first star wars experience? (in both movies and games) And what do you feel is the most under rated star wars game?

    Hello all.
This question is off topic but , is it possible to make a game with multiple decisions that could effect the outcome, and tell a satisfying story in today's modern rpg? In the past, games with such like the Chrono Crosses and others told a sometimes simple, or not, story that made the choices you made seem meaningful and important. While you may not have liked the ending, you felt justified in the outcome your choices made. What do you think? .....O.K here's a Star Wars question: Han Solo, boxers or briefs (or in the case of Leia panties or thongs)?

I know that there are LOTS of Star Wars games out there, but to my knowledge there isn't one with the Fetts as the main protagonist. The bounty hunter family has been seen in many games as a cameo or playable character, but given the success of many other assassin based games out there don't you think this would be an excellent time for the Fetts to receive their own game? It could be like Assassin's Creed.... only you have a jet pack with a rocket launcher.

Does anyone really think that there will ever be a Star Wars game that makes you feel like you are in a real lightsaber duel? Does anyone care now that we know from the Wii and everything afterwards that all that will end up happening is your arms will get tired and you'll wish for a normal controller?

My question is rather tangentially related to the Star Wars Topic....

I've made a couple of home theater PCs inside of old NES consoles (broken of course) and I brought my original, personal, terribly dremeled model with me to PAX this past weekend and was lucky enough to have both Morgan and Blair sign it (thanks again guys), and was unlucky enough to constantly be in panels while they were handing out wristbands so missed out on Adam lovin. The other NES PCs I've made have been Christmas/Birthday gifts for friends, and were much more carefully dremeled and sanded. With Ivy Bridge coming out in a few weeks I'm thinking of upgrading my signed NES PC to a faster processor and moving the original guts into another body to give away as another Birthday gift. My question is what should I put it in? The NES looks fantastic and probably my goto idea if I don't come up with something else, but I was also considering ebaying a Hasbro or Lego At-At walker, and building the PC in there. A Lego Death Star or the Falcon would also be quite fun.

So any suggestions or ideas, Star Wars, classic console or otherwise? And thanks again for the signatures, it was a delight meeting you guys in person. Perhaps next PAX we can have a Feedback panel as well?

What is a game series that you would want to see revised, I would love them to make a new Crash Bandicoot.

What do you guys think about the new story trailer for RE6? What do you think about Ada's new, more evil, role in this game?

This is unrelated to star wars, but could you guys address why recent episodes have been shorter than the usual hour and what sorts of time constraints your under? Blair always seems to be shortening potential topics of discussion by saying there's not enough time, and I think lots of people are curious as to why these constraints are manifesting themselves now as opposed to previous Feedback episodes.

If a new Star Wars game is going to appear this years E3, what would it be?

To me, it seems like Star Wars hasn't been very impactful in the game industry, aside from The Old Republic. What do you think LucasArts needs to do to revitilize the brand?

Some time ago you made fun of the "Landwirtschafts Simulator" - now the "Bus Simulator 2012" has been released; which is pretty good selling though one might think differently - why are games like this liked and better sold in e.g. Germany but not in the USA; where do you see the real difference between those markets for those games and why? Stephen Johnson would be surely a good one for this answer.

Has there ever been a franchise of movies so exploited for profit like Star Wars? A simple search of "Star Wars" in the G4 search engine returns 134 pages of results, filtered down to just games it is a much more manageable 17 pages.

These games cross the gamut of just about every genre of gaming out there: from mmos (SW:TOR, galaxies, and apparently Star Wars: Clone wars adventures), 3rd person adventure (The force unleashed series), third person shooters (Battlefront1 and 2), Real time Strategy (Empire at War), flight sim (Rogue Squadron on 64), not to mention the Lego games, and even racing (Pod racing game, I didn't bother looking up the title).

The list gets very long. You often talk about brand fatigue, for example the assassins creed franchise making a game a year. Why is it that Star wars doesn't seem to have hit the saturation point with fans? Do we just expect tons of star wars video games because they have always been there, is it the big differences in genres, or something else entirely?

With the upcoming consoles in antisipation there is rummor that they will lock the ability to enjoy used games. Fisrt off do you think this is a wise move in their part? And what will it do with the rental buisnesses that rely on rentail for their revenew?

When are we going to see a Star Wars game with light sabres that can cut anything with one blow? In the movies they can cut through huge blast doors made of crazy strong space alloys, but in games i'm stuck hitting a guy a bunch of times while his health bar goes down. I had a dream where i cut one of those creepy floating doctor droids in half with a light sabre and it was sweet. Thats what we need in a Star Wars game. Also does anyone els remember how hard the star wars NES games were? The dagobah stage sucked!

How did Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic affect the way you approached both Star Wars games as well as RPGs?

Personally, nothing I had played before had spent nearly as much time developing characters and relationships. This had an impact on how I see the world, and likely influenced me to pursue my current career fields of social work and social research.

    Hey Feedback crew, love the show but miss the extended length. Would love to see Adam join the crew once in awhile cause I miss his extra snarky attitude. On to the questions;

    1) Do any of the Feedback crew read any of the EU (Expanded Universe) books? If so, favorite series?

    2) Which is your favorite class to play in SW:TOR?

    3) With the passing of SW:Galaxies, do you think there is a place for a non-traditional style MMO? (IE an MMO that doesn't require you to be a combatant but still provides an option for story)

    4) Jedi or Sith?

    5) Since Jedi is a recognized religion in some places of the world, does that mean the religion of the Sith can not be far behind?

    6) Who is the biggest SW freak @ G4?

    7) Dark Side cookies or Light Side pie?
