CD Projekt RED has announced a slew of Witcher 2 promotions at their recent Spring Conference. Those who already own The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on the PC will get a free upgrade to the Enhanced Edition of the game on April 17, the same day the Xbox 360 version releases. The upgrade is sizable at 10GB, but it's totally worth it. The Enhanced Edition adds hours of gameplay to The Witcher 2, as well as a new game introduction and cinematics. Plus, you'll be able to pre-download 95% of the upgrade starting April 11, so you'll only have a few hundred MB left to download on the 17th.
CD Projekt RED also announced a digital Witcher comic coming to iOS devices on April 17. According to the developer, players will be able to, "swipe their fingers across and have Geralt slash a foe with his sword, or pull down a woman’s blouse.” The titillating app will be free.
The developer's also giving away 1,000 free Xbox 360 copies of The Witcher 2 to gamers who fill out a form on The Witcher's website by April 9, 2012. All you've got to do is explain why you think you deserve a copy to review, and then share the promotion through Facebook.
While giving away 1,000 copies of their game is generous, CD Projekt RED has also announced that starting April 17, anyone who has purchased the Witcher 2, regardless of where they got it from, can download a free digital backup copy of the game through Good Old Games, all you'll have to do is insert your CD key.
Pretty good news for Witcher 2 fans today! Are there any 360 gamers out there itching to get their hands on this epic role playing game? If you're still on the fence, check out our The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings review for more details.
