Double Dragon: Neon Coming To XBLA And PSN

WayForward Technologies is working on a reboot of Technos Japan's 1987 arcade brawler Double Dragon, called Double Dragon: Neon. It's been revived a number of times since the '80s in various forms and on various platforms, but this Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network release will boast some seriously upgraded visuals.

The stylized look and feel of the new game will draw heavily from the 1980s for inspiration, with lots of bright colors, neon signs, and guitar-and-synth-led music. IGN describes Neon as a "tongue-in-cheek take on the original game" that preserves much of the feel of the classic arcade title while adding more modern trappings like a grid-based upgrade system (which is called or has something to do with the term "mix-tapes").
