Battlefield 3 is getting a big boost on Xbox 360 thanks to a just-released patch from EA and DICE that amounts to a 172MB download. DICE first started making noise about this giant-sized BF3 patch in late February, 2012, though the lengthy list of changes was noted at the time as being incomplete and not final.
Looking at the patch notes posted on the Battlefield Blog, a lot of what was intended for the update seems to have made the cut. There's been an extensive set of balancing tweaks applied to the weapons and attachments, part of DICE's effort to not only find a better balance, but also to "increase the feeling of individuality in each gun."
The Battlefield 3 update also adds the Rent-a-Server feature that DICE announced at GDC in March. You can get more details on the official website, but you can secure a rental for one, seven, 30, or 90 days, for a cost of $1.49/120 MSP, $6.99/560 MSP, $24.99/2000 MSP, or $59.99/4800 MSP, respectively.
