Microsoft has officially revealed the Xbox 360 Special Edition Chrome Series wireless controllers, which will be available for a limited time starting in mid-May 2012. The shiny gamepads will be available in three colors -- blue, red, and silver -- with a price tag of $54.99, $5 more than a standard wireless.
The controllers will also feature the transforming D-pad that was first revealed in 2010 that allows players to switch between a four-way "cross" shape and an eight-way "disc" shape. Major Nelson notes in his blog post that color availability will vary by region, though neither he nor Microsoft's official product page offer any more specifics than that.

@ bob the baptist all wireless controllers can be used with the pc if you have the special adapter for the pc to use the xbox 360 controllers.. sadly they discontinued making this adapter but you can still buy it you just need to hunt for it.

They're nice but I love my GoW3 one more and I don't want to buy another controller because it probably won't work with the next xbox (Assuming it's coming out next year like the rumors say).

Cool, but wouldn't they be slippery? Chrome has a pretty slick surface and I wouldn't want one of these to fly from my grip during an intense shooter session. The current controllers aren't completely smooth and I still have grip problems occasionally.

Cool...But I've had 4 working plain white controllers for years now, and I rarely use all 4 at once, so really no need, but cool I guess.
