BioWare is planning another N7 Multiplayer Weekend promotion on Xbox Live and PC for Mass Effect 3 called Operation Raptor, which will run from 5am PST on March 30, 2012 through Monday, April 2, at 5am PST. This is the second such offer following Operation Goliath, which awarded players with free multiplayer booster packs for completing a set of challenges.
The goodies players will be getting for completing Operation Raptor are largely the same -- a Commendation Pack for carrying out the primary objective and a Victory Pack for the secondary -- but the goals have changed. The individual goal for each player is to promote two multiplayer characters into the single player game; the group, or Allied, goal will be reached when 150,000 such promotions have been made.
Promoting a character to your single player game is a simple matter of leveling that particular class up to 20 and pressing the X button on your controller. Promoting a class gives a boost to your single player game's accrued War Assets, the total collection of which contributes to how successfully the endgame unfolds for Shepard's allied forces.
The contents of the packs will be revealed next week, after the promotion ends and the awards are handed out. BioWare also confirms that it continues to work with Sony on bringing these Operations to the PlayStation 3 console, and that an update should be coming later this week. Also, just like the previous Operation, take note that in order to participate, you'll need to have "Upload Gameplay Feedback" set to "On" (it is by default) in the game's Options menu.
