ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks are reportedly planning to announce Elder Scrolls Online in May 2012, according to an anonymous industry source speaking to Tom's Guide. Details are scant, but the May announcement would be followed by appearances for the game at both E3 and QuakeCon 2012.
The rumor pegs Elder Scrolls Online as being set around 1,000 years before the events of 2011's Skyrim, which puts the timeframe inside the Elder Scrolls universe's Second Era. The game will also reportedly include three factions, each one represented by an animal: a lion, a dragon and a bird of prey. Tom's Guide notes that the rumor was "corroborated by two additional sources before publication."
ZeniMax and Bethesda gave Tom's an official "no comment" response, so it looks like we'll be waiting until May to see how this all plays out. What do you make of the rumor? Is it time for Elder Scrolls to step into the online space?

they should make a multiplayer simular to dead island where four friends can play together in the same game it wouldn't change the game too much and allows people to play with friends at the same time that would be the best thing to do it would take less work to maintain and add a fun multiplayer to the game forget the MMO keep the multiplayer small so it won't massivly change the game

I dont tink The Elder scroll series shout be online just yet. becausse look a what hapend to world of warcraft. they stop making more warcraft just because it wass to much metenence to run thaire MMO call World of Warcraft (WOW). I am not ready to lose the Elder sroll series over a MMO rpg. but i like the idear of online play posible for the next titel to comme out. They shoud finiche thaire series and the make therre MMO rpg whit the texnologie that will be out by then.Xbox 720 could probablie run somting that big. it just to soon. my opignion. In fact Skyrim came out to fast. one week after the game came out , bethesda had made the spear and auther upgrade for that game. maibe because we wantaid to much everie one have to play the crapie version whit no spear on Xbox. We could of wait a litel more for that and it would make the game much more anjoyable for Every one. MMO RPG is not a good idear just now but i would like to see it one day but not to soon. plz peaple be more patien and you would have bether game.

I would love an Elder Scrolls MMO, but it would be even better if they could somehow make it playable on consoles as well as computers, but I doubt it's possible. I will play it even if it is just for the PC, but I much prefer the Xbox.

i would love to see a MMO in the elder scrolls series so i hope the rumors are true, but on the other hand i love the feel of playing a single player RPG of this magnitude, knowing in the back of your mind that there's no one else you can rely on to get through dungeons, its up to you and any tricks or items you may have picked up along the way to survive in the harsh environment that is Tamriel, either way im a huge fanboy an will be playing this beautiful game series for years to come.

Stop Rushing The Elder Scrolls Series, dont make a MMORPG out of it, and bring the vibrant colors and fantasy back that was scene in Morrowind, and Oblivion.... PLEASE :(
ColeTrain
bet its only PC that's going to be able to play this so i don't care

Maybe it will take place in Akavir, and you could choose between one of the three major races there (technically 4). Theres so much minor hinting throughout the game, id be really cool to actually play as a Tseaci, Tang Mo, or a Ka'Po Tun

It will be a co-op. A massive-multiplayer-online game would be a horrible move unless it was separate from the series but still took place in Tamriel. I doubt they will jump their wildly successful single player series into a WoW experience. Co-op all the way :)

I think tht it should be a 4 player co-op. Where one player is dragonborn, and the other 3 be Felldir,Garmlaith Golden hill, and Hakon. At least these are the characters i want to be in 4 player co-op.
VINC3NTP98
they could make it like red dead redemption multiplayer and have private, open, and different game modes like mmo,vs stuff like that

No, No, No to an MMO
I want to pay for the game, then choose if I want to get DLC. I don't want to pay for the game then pay X dollars per month. Fook. That.
SupBroWhatsGood
Can they just put Co-Op in an elder scrolls game first? Christ.
ztgarver
I hope its for xbox. But they shouldnt have it as an mmo they should have it as like 2-64 a lil big for a sever but it would allow 32v32 battles. you could storm castles and all sorts of things. Clans could have there own servers with there castles. Like a battlefield server but eldered out.

It really wouldnt be too hard. If they made the menus all in the style of the pop-up favorites menu with no game delay it would just flow. So all your equipment would pop up on the side in real time and you could switch in and out durinng combat or whatever. There could be a confirmation needed to looad into another screen. If one person wanted to load into a dungeon the rest of the party or other players would press start to confirm the load, kinda like Borderlands. I think a 4 playrer Co-op as a DLC would be the best possible route. Most people don't want an MMO but would enjoy Co-op. The invested time and money would turn into profit. I can guarentee 99% of the people that have online access and play Skyrim would buy the DLC. They could even reasonalby charge $50 dollars for it.

If multiplayer comes to skyrim, I would think there would be an option to share quests with another player. Sure there would be bugs, but what game doesn't have bugs? I feel this is a great path for Bethesda to be heading into, because who doesn't wanna dive into dungeons with a couple of friends?
Jedi1686
.DONT TURN THE SKYRIM INTO WORLD OF WARCRAFT!
skrambles105
they just need to make a fallout or skyrim based multeplayer online game 4 players running around the freeworld killing evrething in there paths am i right
exo_gemma
I'm kinda skeptical that elder scrolls online will turn out like world of warcraft, in which case we might lose our souls.

lols this games ending sucks BALLS is the complaint??? this is what G4TV can add to their EPIC FAIL spot light on their show LOLOLOLOL (everyone say this with me loud) EPICCCCC FA AI AI AI AILL AILLL *BOOOSH*
Lilthunder910
I think the best online scenario for The Elder Scrolls would be kinda similar to how Minecraft's multiplayer works. One person hosts a game and a group of friends can drop in and out of a game whenever they feel like it, or you could have the option to connect to larger servers with random people on the internet.
