Blizzard Entertainment has at long (looooooooong) last confirmed an official release date for its currently-in-beta lootfest RPG, Diablo 3: May 15, 2012. The news is currently the first thing you see when you head over to Battle.net, with a giant image of the box situated above the release date as well as a link to a pre-order page.
Note that you'll need a Battle.net account to proceed into the pre-order page. Only the $59.99 digital version of Diablo 3 is currently available for pre-order through Battle.net, though a same-priced boxed release and $99.99 Collector's Edition will also be available. Those haven't yet been added to the official Blizzard Store, but it's a safe bet that they soon will be.

Blizzard never sells their collector's editions directly through the Blizzard store, so unfortunately if you haven't already ordered a CE you're too late most likely.

The following is a true story during Diablo2:LoD v1.09
Some newb taunted the Croc for hours in channel.
It was my channel, i was king. Diablo Retail Usa-2.
I got sick of this newb named Alan and i knew he
had an advantage but i was truly a better player.
His friend had given him all the best cheat items,
while i had the standard valor/gf/gaze build.
He, of course, had an Ith colossus blade, which if you recall,
has superior stats. I beat him 2-0 in a whirlwind duel and exited.
I didn't even need to taunt him in the channel and he kept his mouth shut
from then on.
Then, of course, leeching was removed from duels in 1.10, which also added
an item to let everyone teleport and broke the game. No more epic duels.
I had an epic hour an half duel in WoW though, my pally vs a priest.
I also won that but by the end it didn't feel worth it.

I guess Blizzard perceive TERA as a threat, considering they're releasing D3 two weeks after TERA's release.
