Risen 2 has a new release date. It's been delayed until May 22. That means the pirate-RPG has been pushed back about a month from the previously announced Risen 2 release date of April 24 -- not a deadly delay, but a minor inconvenience.
I'm watching this one pretty closely. What we've seen here at G4 has been impressive (Check out our Risen 2 video preview) and if the game lives up to the amazing promise of high-seas adventure, it could be a really big game. Also: If this game does well, I might get to dress up like a pirate more often.
Are you guys looking forward to the release of Risen 2?

You won t find blood and gore, nor pirates of the Caribeean, and absolutly no Fable III in Risen 2. P.B. has an unique style in making games, completly different in terms of feeling, game play and story telling than any other game. Love it or hate it. I loved it so far, more than any other main stream game, despite some tech problems they had especially on the old Gothics. They introduce guns now, so what, let see how the story goes! I am not a big fan of guns, but I know that P.B. won t fail me and that the game play will be different from the other games you have in mind!

The whole aspect of Guns in this game is absolutely moronic. It's painfully obvious that all that was done here was copy Fable III (which everyone full well knows Fable III was an absolute disaster)
Sorry but Guns have no place in anything that has Magic involved in it (Unless it's magic Missile)
Let me put this into perspective for people who are still confused and do not understand why guns and magic do not mix. Mixing guns into a game that contains magic and vice versa is exactly like anything on this list below:
Putting Magic into Halo
Putting Guns in Skyrim
Putting Plasma Rifles in games such as Dynasty Warriors
Putting Magic in James bond Games
It's the same exact concept...there are just certain elements that you do not do simply due to the games outline.
I think people can see where this is going.

I've had my eye on this one a while. After seeing the preview of it I'm glad they're delaying it a bit. Actually I think they could delay it more to work on it. I really hope the game turns out good, cause the first risen wasn't as good as it should've been.

the same day as dragons dogma? ouch thats gonna hurt the ole wallet..really they should wait a few weeks if they cant come out before that..

I'm really looking forward to the release of this sequel, but I'd rather wait for the finished product to get worked on and polished more than to end up with something that's rushed and buggy. I enjoyed the first Risen a lot and was excited to see in the X-Play preview that the sequel is a pirate RPG, a type of RPG that is long overdue!

I am sooo excited for this. I'm going back through the first one as soon as I finish my backlog of games (almost finished! yay!) just to pump myself up for this one. I guess that the delay isn't so bad, in that sense: it gives me more time to do it. I just hope one delay is all there is.

Personally, I just hope that this game isn't a "Pirates of the Caribbean" rpg. Let's see some realism and gore! Plus if my ship doesn't come equipped with a "booboo box", scorpions included, then I'm out.
