Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter Campaign Reaches $400K In Hours

Double Fine's Kickstarter project has earned over $3 million in just over a month. On February 8, 2012, Double Fine's head, Tim Schafer, came to the internet asking for funds so that he and his team could develop a new game. In just 24 hours, Double Fine brought in over $1 million in donations and shocked the entire gaming industry by showing just how generous fans can be.  "It's been an amazing experience," Tim Schafer said of the Kickstarter project. "So much love."

In total, the project raised a staggering $3,335,265 through the donations of 87,142 backers. Initially, Double Fine only aimed to reach a goal of $400,000, meaning gamers donated more than eight that in order to see Double Fine's next project come to life. That project will be a classically designed adventure game, but other than that details on the now-upcoming game are still pretty slim.
