Fans of arcade racing in North America will finally get to zoom and drift around the racetracks of Ridge Racer for PS Vita on March 13. The confirmation comes straight from Namco Bandai in a post on PlayStation Blog; you're looking at $29.99 for a boxed copy and $24.99 for a PS Store download.
This should come as welcome news to North American gamers who are jealous over both Europe and Japan getting the game first. Namco's also got a bonus in place for those who pick up Ridge Racer close to launch, in the form of free DLC.
Those who purchase Ridge Racer at retail will find a Gold Pass game code in the box "while supplies last." PS Store purchases made before April 30 also come with this Gold Pass. The added content amounts to a solid offering of five added cars, three added tracks and more music. The PS Blog post also notes that "upon the North American launch date, Ridge Racer will be updated with an improved frame rate and crisper graphics."
In other words, early adopters in Japan and Europe are suckers. Or at least, that's what you can tell yourself to soothe the pain of having to wait extra weeks for new Ridge Racer.
