Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Sanzaru Games' first crack at a new entry in the series, will be hitting PlayStation 3 consoles in fall 2012, Sony confirms in a new PlayStation Blog post. The game was first revealed at E3 last year, but this is the first confirmation we've gotten of an actual timeframe for its release.
The Sly Cooper series is originally the work of Sucker Punch Productions, though Sanzaru took the reins on things a few years back to develop 2010's HD remake collection that gathered together the three previous games. Thieves in Time is a proper sequel, following the titular raccoon as he jumps around in time in an effort to keep his bloodline safe.
The PS Blog post offers a few hints of what to expect from the game. You'll be playing not just as Sly, but also as his various ancestors. Sanzaru is working to ensure that each character offers a different sort of approach to how you play. Instead of a bunch of Sly re-skins, you'll be picking up characters with different abilities as you proceed. Players will be rewarded for exploring previously covered territory with these added characters, as they'll be able to gain access to areas that others won't.

i love sly cooper i cant wait for sly cooper 4 coming out :D is there any date when it coming out? and will carmelita fox be in sly cooper 4? i think sly cooper will not be the same without her

Fall is the absolute WORST possible time for this. Unless they are shooting for a very early September release. This screams mid to late summer period.

Can't wait; Sanzaru really looks to be handling this quite well! :-D I love the aesthetics, new look, and new gameplay mechanics as well.

This is looking really good. There is so much potential with all his ancestors. It's definitely one of my most anticipated titles of the year.

What makes Sly awesome isn't the "thieving," although that is fun. It's that Sly, besides being hilariously funny, is whimsical and fun to play. It is the antithesis of all those dour, grey-green-brown, too serious, too-cool-school FPSs out there.
That and all the HOT, FURRY ACTION! *bow-chicka-bow-wow*

I love the series and that they're bringing it back I just, for some reason, cannot get over sly's new look. It just doesn't sit well with me. Still going to get it first day though, Definitely!

Yes I love Sly, there is just a fun atmosphere to it that you can't find with most games.
